Spiritual Direction

What is Spiritual Direction?

Spiritual direction is about reflection and contemplation. It is about doing work on your soul—or, put another way, on what is deep inside.

Spiritual direction is not about religion (unless you wish to discuss it).

A spiritual director listens and asks questions about what is going on in your life and how it relates to that part of you that seeks to understand yourself better.

In spiritual direction, sometimes a candle is lit to represent that there is a higher power in the room that is present as we talk. You may even choose to sit in silence during portions of the session.

There are no fixes or solutions: it is about the time you spend in relationship to yourself and the spiritual director, who is a facilitator of sorts. Spiritual direction is about your spiritual needs and what you perceive them to be.
